Query Join Reordering via Quantum Simulation
Collaborated with Google engineers to apply quantum computing to the join-order optimization problem in databases — a classic NP-hard challenge. Developed a QUBO formulation and used quantum simulations via Qiskit and D-Wave Ocean to approximate optimal join sequences. Measured query cost improvements over traditional database optimizers.
